Popes Playing Pepper; Wind 2040.14
Popes Playing Pepper
with Sai and Aarav
SAI -- Welcome to another dumb episode of Triple P. I'm your host, Sai Ahuji, and with me, as always, is Aarav Patil.
AARAV -- No nicknames? No snarky comment about me? Have you gone soft?
SAI -- No, it's just ... [shakes his head and looks towards the ceiling] ... now even the smelly Sox in Chicago jumped on the damn team philosophy bandwagon. They're calling it a blueprint or something. Man, Charlotte has a plan. Portland has some kind of master plan.
AARAV -- Are you seriously butt hurt because GM Shoeless hasn't labeled his ideas to make this team better?
SAI -- I don't know. I guess it would be good to know he has some kind of ... direction. His general manager style is best summed up by a quote from Seneca, "Our plans miscarry because they have no aim. When a man does not know what harbor he is making for, no wind is the right wind."
AARAV -- Are you saying you don't think he knows what he's doing?
SAI -- I mean, sure, the Crusaders have won 16 of their last 18 games, pushing us just 3.5 games behind first in the Pacific with a record of 28-26. But ... the whole thing reminds me of another quote, "Even a blind dog can find a bone."
AARAV -- Ah, come on ... geez, usually I'm the cynical one. I think he's made some changes to make this team better, and, who cares if it's luck, they seem to be working.
SAI -- What changes?
AARAV -- Well, he sent Miguel Ramos to the bullpen for several games to get his head straight. How many guys would have the balls to move a guy he signed for over $21 million a year to the bullpen?
SAI -- That's a terrible argument. So, because he makes a poor $21 million decision, he's able to make himself look good by making a not-terrible decision? That's not how it works.
AARAV -- Fine, whatever. He's also been extremely active on the waiver wire. He did find a gem in Andy Seekins who San Antonio waived. Since joining the Crusaders, Seekins is slashing .381/.481/1.000 with four home runs.
SAI -- Oh, please! Come on, Aarav. Seekins has 21 at bats in a Crusader uniform. That's not a small sample size. That's microscopic.
Do you need another idiom about how lucky we've been getting?
AARAV -- Do we actually have anything meaningful to talk about on the show today?
SAI -- No, actually.
AARAV -- Should we just end the show, then?
SAI -- Wait.. I think I know what to call our team philosophy, or plan, or master plan, or blueprint.
AARAV -- Really? What?
SAI -- The Right Wind™
AARAV -- The right wind?
SAI -- No, The Right Wind™.
AARAV -- That makes no sense.
SAI -- Sure it does. Remember Seneca's quote? GM Shoeless is providing the The Right Wind™.
AARAV -- Oh, god. Really? That idiot in Las Vegas is going to have a field day with that.
SAI -- Hey, we can end the show now. We accomplished something -- The Right Wind™. I like that. Good night, Crusader fans. Keep cheering for the The Right Wind™.

But, if you need to zig left, what wind do you use then?

Love this. The Plan, The Master Plan, Smoke & Mirrors, The Blueprint, The Right Wind, The Grand Scheme...I really got to get on board with this league-wide movement.
