2033 Podcast Numero Uno

Post by Ted » Thu Nov 09, 2017 8:37 pm

Tyler Simmons, Brandon Slouck and I talk about the teams in the JLA, then visit the progress of the expansion franchises.

Sorry for my audio being goofy. I had to do some funky things to record my voice and my speaker output (which basically ended up involving feeding myself back through the speakers). Because of that I had to change the amplification so I didn't sound muffled compared to the other voices, but it ended up making my audio kind of lossy. Should seems listenable. Just a little odd at times.

Thanks so much to my co-hosts for their excellent work.

Great conversation. Love hearing the second best division in baseball examined so fully.

good stuff guys, hopefully at some point we can get a breakdown of each division like this. I think we could have done that with the JLS but tech and timing issues prevented that last weekend.

This is a lot of fun to listen to.

-Brooklyn would have had no interest in any combination of Correa/Lopez with those contracts.
-We do need another power hitter. I wanted to bring back Moreno but he sucked in Brooklyn.
-Like stated, our starting rotation is a lot better but still not great.
-I do plan to tinker with the rotation a bit. Mostly the bottom though. The media guide may or may not contain some clues.

As long as Lopez doesn't totally tank this year, ATC has one more in them. But the bigger issue is that Correa is showing signs of an early-ish demise, too. A little too early to tell, but if that happens Joshua is going to have to consider finding a way to kill at least one of those contracts just to stay alive. That was a huge move, though.

Thought I'd recalled you saying that, but it took me forever to hear your accent in the podcast.

As in you couldn't figure out what it was or I do a decent job of hiding it? lol

You were doing a good job hiding it, if that was your goal. The last company I worked for had a site in Havre de Grace, MD and I had no idea that there was a unique accent there until spending time with a coworker there.

I don't really try to hide it. I think I had it more when I was younger though. I think it's more of a Baltimore area and Eastern Shore thing. You won't really hear it in Western MD.

Being from Chicago i used to think I didn't have an accent for the longest time. My KC area wide quickly convinced me otherwise and I can hear it in certain parts of the numero zwei pod for sure.

Look up Tangier Island accents. It's a small island in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay and it's wild. You won't have any clue what they are saying.
