Boise Spuds 37 51 .420 -15 GB -11 WGB L10: 7-3 Strk: L2

Well this was an odd Sim. Not only did Boise post a 4-2 record, the four wins weren't really close at all, while the 2 losses were nail-biting affairs. Couple this with a 5-2 end to the month of June and there's a good little run going...9-4 in the last 13. The offense was surprisingly capable while pitching was about what we've come to expect from the Spuds.

v Rocky Mountain 9-1 W
v Rocky Mountain 5-1 W
Boise has had a rough go of it against Rocky Mountain this season, splitting a 2-game series and getting swept in a 3-game set. This series was a home and the team seems to have sent a message. The opening game saw a face on the mound that was familiar to Spuds fans. Ommar bin Ayyub was a Spud until an April trade that sent him to Colorado Springs in exchange for SP Noori bin Mu'awiyah (who ultimately ended up back a Charm City where he was claimed in the Rule 5 draft originally). Maybe Boise hitters were too familiar with bin Ayyub as they lit him up with 5 runs on 7 hits in just 2.2 IP. But the story of the game was when the Spuds were on the field which meant starter Ed Noble was on the hill. Noble was 1-4 coming into the game but went 6 innings allowing only 1 run on 4 hits. P Logan Hill mopped up the last 3 innings of the 9-1 win as he works to get his mechanics back on track. Boise, likewise, jumped on Rocky Mountain's Chris Thompson for 2 runs in the 1st, but Thompson wouldn't allow another run in his 6 innings. The story was, yet again, on the mound as Boise starter Toshikuni Kubo allowed only 1 run on 4 hits in 8 innings and newcomer Knox Sked finished up the 9th.

@ Charlotte 11-6 W
@ Charlotte 4-1 W
@ Charlotte 5-7 L
@ Charlotte 4-5(11) L
After a travel day Boise arrived in the Queen City to face the Flyers who are right in the middle of the JL Atlantic division. In the opener, the Spuds pounded Charlotte starter Buwono Mainaky for 5 runs in the first and 3 more in the 3rd inning. It was a relatively close affair until the 9th when Boise only needed 2 hits to post 3 runs as the Flyers' reliever António Cuenca walked a hitter twice with the bases loaded. The offense was led by Supds LF Héctor Holloway who went 3-for-5 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI. Also of note, RP Adrián Fox registered a solid 2 innings to earn the win. The second game saw, yet again, Boise jump out to a sizeable lead scoring 2 runs in each of the first two innings. The Spuds' Claudio García made his first start of the season and tossed 6 innings of 1-run ball allowing only 4 hits. Closer Harold Nothard saw the lead thru in earning the save. The Flyers and Spuds traded punches in the 3rd game with Boise ultimately taking it on the chin as Jeremy Nickerson had his first really poor outing only lasting 3.2 innings giving up 5 runs. Boise LF Fawwaz Amin did his part going 4-for-4 with a homerun. The finale was a beauty of a game with a knife-twisting ending for the Spuds. Ed Noble was back on the hill but allowed 9 hits in 5.2 innings which led to 3 runs. But that was keeping with the pace of Charlotte starter Rubén bin Majid al Din and the teams finished the 9th in 3-3 tie. In the top of the 11th, it seemed Boise had snatched the road win as another Charlotte pitcher, Félix Camarco, walked in a run. Nothard returned for Boise to lock down a 1-run win but he allowed a double to the first pitcher he faced then a 2-run walkoff HR off the bat of Flyers' 3B Mahine 'Dragnet' Karetu
