Boise Spuds 49 33 .598, Pyth Diff +1, 5.5 GB L10: 6-4 Strk: L2
Home: 21-19, .525

April: 21-5, .807
May: 15-14, .517
June: 13-14, .481

Serious Injuries

None. Woohoo!

May
15-14, .517

And here comes the regression. After a 21-5 April, pretty much any outcome in May was going to be a letdown. The Spuds won series against Las Vegas, Rocky Mountain, San Antonio, and Rockville (sweep). Most painfully, Boise lost 3 of 4 to Mexico City and dropped another 4-game series vs Phoenix. The longest losing streak was 3 games but that happened twice in May.

The starting rotation got shoved around pretty badly. Of the five with May starts, only 26yo lefty Logan Hill had an ERA under 4. Hill made 6 starts tossing 36.1 innings and going 3-1. He allowed 4 HR, walked only 8 and fanned 27. SP Daniel Camacho, sliding in to Molina's slot, went 1-3 with a 5.52 ERA allowing 19 runs in 31 innings walking 10 and striking out 25. The team's best start in May came in a loss. 30yo P Gavrilovich Mastinsky got the nod to face Mexico City on the road. He lasted 6 innings allowing 1 run and 4 hits. And, there ya go.

May was not as bad for the offense. LF Paul Kemp led the way with a monster of a month. He collected 12 RBI and scored 19 as he had a .829 OPS, 7 doubles, 6 HR, and 4 stolen bases. 1B Bastião Fardos added 14 RBI on 6 doubles, 2 triples, and 4 HR. Seven players had double-digits in RBI and the team generated 70 doubles.

Yeah, it was nice to have such a great record in the first month, but May cooled them down considerably. Better results on the field are needed and especially on the mound.
