Ahh, the coaching staff. What do they even do? It doesn't matter how many LEGENDARY ratings they have, it just doesn't seem like they make a difference. But we gotta have 'em. Just another excuse to drain our budgets and prevent us from throwing that $11 million bonus at some random minor league free agent.
Welp, the Talons have had to hire some new coaches this offseason, and it's gone relatively smoothly, to say nothing about the million plus dollars it's taken to fill out the staff thus far. And they still have AAA to worry about.
But one potential coach doesn't have to worry about the Talons AAA team anytime soon, and that's hitting coach Jesus Ortiz. Now of course the Talons always sort the coaching list by available opportunity, so it's not like they're asking someone who has no interest in a minor league assignment. Having said that, though, the Talons were still shocked to get the following reply from "Jesus":
Huh. Maybe getting a coaching staff in Surprise will be harder than we thought.
