The Talons GM was in Tokyo, where, as a condition of his frequent missives against the Governing Board, he has been forced once again into indentured servitude and been made to run the Pearls with zero salary. In the corporate world, they call this a "lateral move".

We caught up with the Reclusive GM^TM, his Delta miles vanishing faster than free shots at a college bar, and asked him about some new features in the BBA. Like this new-fangled "Development Lab" that everyone is drooling over. We apologize in advance for the following quote.

"What the hell is this shit?" he exclaimed. "Is this fucking kindergarten?? Do I really have to tell a grown man, a professional athlete, that they need to stay in shape over the winter? Is this pee-wee baseball?"

"Angel Zalapa is a goddamn hall of famer. 43 year old man. And now I need to pull him aside, the guy with 92 career WAR, and say 'hey Z-man, if maybe you could work on some bat speed over the winter, that'd be great'? What a joke. I shouldn't have to tell these guys shit. They should know what the hell they are doing, especially since I am paying them to, I don't know, maybe be a professional baseball player."

"What a damn greek tragedy. First it was Participation Trophies. And now this. I have to tell a major league pitcher, being paid to throw 100 mph: 'Hey big guy, great work this season champ, why don't you try throwing more over the winter, eh sport?'."
