I guess that 4th pick requires more thought.

Just realized I might miss some of the draft. Gotta try and get my queue setup.

Re: 2051, BBA Ammy Draft Chatter
Ramos over Morales was a no brainer for me. Probably in this order...
-fully developed
-can play above average 1B(Morales is just a DH IMO)
-better baserunner(important for high OBP)
-my park is double/triple friendly
Really the only Morales question for me remains... would have I have been better off not signing Bouton last season and getting Ramos and Morales? Still not sure if I made the right choice there. Usually you take hitter over pitcher. I opted against that cause it was DH VS SP. Probably won't know if I was right or wrong for another 10 seasons as they are both undeveloped AF.

Ramos over Morales was a no-brainer because it was a no-brainer. Guy has an ELEVEN eye rating. Next.

Eleven eye with a solid hitting profile on top of it. Love that guy. Pencil him in the lineup until his eye lumps to eight.aaronweiner wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 7:03 pmRamos over Morales was a no-brainer because it was a no-brainer. Guy has an ELEVEN eye rating. Next.

Redmon has red flags all over. Throws 101 mph but no fastball. 1/6 MOV w/ cutter and slider being top pitches. He's young but that's got to fill out.aaronweiner wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 5:38 pmMore than a little, but I picked the right guy.
Just not happy.
Stone should easily fill his POT but he's got that pesky 5/8 changeup that, for some reason, never develops in this game. There are so many excellent & great BBA pitchers that have a half-developed changeup dangling out there.

Not complaining as I'm sure there's a good reason, but the initial draft order had us at #2 only for us to slide all the way to #6. ???

Re: 2051, BBA Ammy Draft Chatter
I'm usually not an "eye" guy because I feel like there is a good deal of online players who are hung up on walks being undervalued that they are actually highly overvalued now. That said, I'm thrilled to have an 11 and 9(Moten) eye at the top of my lineup for the next decade. Especially with two power bats(Benson- high 10 and Cleaver-11 VS RHP) batting behind them for the next 6 plus years as well.shoeless.db wrote: ↑Tue Jun 07, 2022 8:21 pmEleven eye with a solid hitting profile on top of it. Re: 2051, BBA Ammy Draft Chatter
You cant go by the order that shows up in game. In our Constitution, it explains how we use a 3-year formula for determining draft order.cheekimonk wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 1:36 amNot complaining as I'm sure there's a good reason, but the initial draft order had us at #2 only for us to slide all the way to #6. ???
Wins = (.5*Y1+.3*Y2+.2*Y3)
In this case, Y1 is the number of wins you had in 2050; Y2 is 2049; and, Y3 is 2048.

Re: 2051, BBA Ammy Draft Chatter
The level of hitting talent in these drafts is just woeful. I don't know what it's supposed to be correcting for (as far as balancing talent). Is there a super-surplus of hitting talent in the league right now?

Every year I think, "This is the year where I finally draft a decent catcher". And every year I'm wrong...

If we'd switch back to relative ratings it wouldn't look so ridiculouscheekimonk wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 3:13 pmThe level of hitting talent in these drafts is just woeful. Re: 2051, BBA Ammy Draft Chatter
Even without regards to ratings, though, finding guys that can play some position decently and hit is nearly impossible.recte44 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 9:16 pmIf we'd switch back to relative ratings it wouldn't look so ridiculouscheekimonk wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 3:13 pmThe level of hitting talent in these drafts is just woeful. I take that back. It's not impossible, it's just rolling more dice on position players' development than pitchers.
