07/28/2042 Was traded by the San Antonio Outlaws to the Las Vegas Hustlers, along with SP Nathaniel Davis, SS José Gonzáles, in exchange for RP Augate Balun.

2042 seems like eons ago. At any rate, that's when the Las Vegas Hustlers picked up two promising young hurlers and an interesting shortstop prospect from San Antonio in exchange for reilef ace Balun. High hopes were set for both Custello and Davis.

01/01/2044 Was traded by the Las Vegas Hustlers to the Nashville Bluebirds, along with 3B Phil Logan, SS Reynante Alvero, SP Scott Bugbie, in exchange for SP Elliot Buckland, 2B Jesús Yan, SS Mike England.

Yup, Custello was involved in what was possibly the worst trade in Hustlers history (stupid sentimental Recte). He'd reach the BBA as a Bluebird in 2047, and more or less stayed in the Nashville rotation as a solid BBA starter through 2054.

The Hustlers signed him to a split contract this Spring, and he pitched well in Spring Training but was ultimately sent to Milwaukee (AAA). His stats there (see above) are a bit deceiving. Check out the splits, and what he's done since the outset of May and working out of the bullpen:

So, the Hustlers decided now was the time to bring him up and see what he could do for them. First week was a success:
