Stinson and Donodoni Win Pucketts

Two Calgary Pioneers have won post season awards this year with Larry Stinson and Carlomaria Donadoni both receiving the JL Charles Puckett Golden Bat Award for their respective positions. For Stinson, this was the eighth time he has received the award, Donodoni’s was his first.

“Both of these guys had great years and earned these awards,” said Calgary manager Nicholas Brody. “Cheneweth should have won one too.”

Stinson had a tremendous year leading the JL with a 1.016 OPS. He also led the league with 158 RBIs and finished 2nd with 54 HR. Along with winning the Puckett for 1B, Stinson finished 2nd in the voting for the Zimmer award at his position. For the 3rd time in his career Stinson finished 3rd in the voting for the Sawyer Silk Award, an award he won in 2043.

Donodoni was the Puckett for 3B which he only started playing in 2054. Amazingly this was the first post season award that he has won. Of course since he played 1B most of his career he was competing with Stinson for those awards. This may be his last shot at the 3B trophy as the team is expected to move him primarily to DH this upcoming season.
