New Orleans has reached an agreement with Free Agent SPJayin Ranjani.
New Orleans signed the 25 year old Starting Pitcher from Nepal to a 6 year $49.7M deal that will keep him in a Crawdad uniform until 2063.
Ranjani joins an already strong starting rotation with John Lucas, Micah Harrington and Steven Flannery. Either Christian Burgos or Arturo Trevino will slide to the bullpen - which is in much need of support.
Ranjani certainly isnt without risk. He comes in with impressive upside, and has improved each of the last 3 seasons with the Tokyo Pearls. But BBA will be different. He needs to continue to improve. In addition, some BBA teams were apparently unwilling to sign him, as he has a history of not being the best teammate, selfishness, and poor work ethic. New Orleans will certianly need him to improve on that if he is to be as successful as he can be.
The Ranjani signing leaves the crawdads with a solid 39M remaining in the cap for the 2057 season. They certainly are not done. Look for them to add a big bat, and some middle infield help before this offseason ends.

This is a really nice signing early on, given the overall lack of quality pitching in FA.
