Despite seeing a significant improvement from 2052 to 2053 spurred on by bringing in some big name (and high priced) acquisitions, the Kernels are in reasonable cap shape heading forward. The only two notable free agents are SP Jay Hodge and 3B Roberto Rivera, both of whom were in-season rentals. The organization will likely have about 13-14m to play with, depending on arbitration decisions, which is a reasonable figure to acquire either a key contributor or multiple smaller pieces to bolster depth.
When asked about his off-season plans GM Randy Weigand said "I am pretty happy with where we sit. The holes created by Roberto and Jay leaving could be filled internally, so we are truly in a position to find the best available guys to try and improve slightly." One area not expected to be touched is the outfield, with megastars Hector Cano Jr. and Aaron Haney firmly entrenched and hotshot rookie Sonny Bigalow earmarked for the other spot.

With the right moves, there is no reason to think that you couldn't get to the second round of the playoffs.usnspecialist wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 12:51 pmDespite seeing a significant improvement from 2052 to 2053 spurred on by bringing in some big name (and high priced) acquisitions, the Kernels are in reasonable cap shape heading forward.
