San Antonio 2056 Team Awards – Best Batter
The best batter for the Outlaws in 2056 was really a two man race. Both 1B Majid bin Husam and LF Patrick Strolz had career best performances. They were a 1-2 punch in the middle of the batting order that harkens back to the days of the early Outlaws. Strolz had a very impressive .337/18/65 stat line and earned the Johnson league batting crown. However, Big Pap was in a class a bit above with his .333/39/123 stat line. He played every game for the Outlaws and was lights out, especially at the end of the season when he batted over .400 for August and September. The bets batter award has to go to Big Papi.
The other highlights of the team on the plate side were a few players that added to the power category for a team that sorely lacked power last season. 3B Taroemon Omori played a full season, logging 150 games played, and hit a career high 31 homers. He drove in 85 runs and his .244 average leaves room for growth. His WAR dipped from 2.1 down to 1.5 since he was playing against lefties and the team will look to resolve that this offseason.
Newcomer Sebastian Fradesso also had a solid season at the plate hitting .265/28/95. He carried 1.9 of WAR and could reach the preferred 3.0 mark that BB tries to get across the board, a nice target that he wrote about a while back. Nino’s season was on par with his best years back in the ‘40’s so we got what we expected.

Re: On the Lam, 56.4 - Best Batter
I thought this would be about an average season for Big Papi. A little disappointing it took him this long to breakout. Hope he keeps playing to his potential.
