The Outlaws ended up making one addition during this year’s Rule V draft. It was expected that there may be room to add a few more but the list of 12 players was quickly exhausted as most players on the list were pulled back by their team and several others were drafted ahead of the Outlaws at pick 9 of the 1st round.
SP Edison Williams
Williams was targeting as the Outlaws pitching staff was a little thin going into 2059. He is a 23 year old left with completely average ratings for stuff, movement and control. However, he has an above average fastball and a wicked curveball as his second pitch. His 3rd pitch is a below average curveball but it will be interesting to see how it affect his productivity. He has decent velocity and is a groundball pitcher which should help in the TAP Room. The most impressive thing about Williams is he has a good personality and is a sparkplug. With the clubhouse in good shape already he should balance out some of the more cantankerous pickups this offseason.
He has had good success at his low level stops since he started as a professional in Rookie League Cheyenne and Single A Billings as a 16 year old. His last season was spent in Billings where he earned a 9-1 record with 16 saves to go with his 2.18 ERA. The previous 2 seasons were spent in AA St Joseph where he compiled two straight seasons of low 3 ERA’s.
The team is excited to see if Williams can be a spot starter with good intangibles to help hold the clubhouse together in 2059.

Not sure why this guy was in A ball last year. Makes him difficult to judge.
