On The Horizon Vol. 1

Post by bschr682 » Fri Jul 09, 2010 6:33 pm

Today we look at the bright future of Bernard Maselli.

Maselli, at only 21 years of age, is the Crusaders most prized prospect. A SS/3B in high school, Maselli has been moved to 2B due to concerns of his lack of arm strength and only slightly above average range. The prized hitter currenty stands at .313/.350/.438 and has handled the move to 2B fairly well.

"I don't really care what position I play so long as I get my shot soon."

According to an anonymous source close to the Crusaders upper management Maselli may have to wait one more year to get his shot. However if current 2B Ed Miller keeps on struggling, it may not be all the long before Maselli sees some time on the big league club.

Stay tuned for more insight into the brightspots of the Crusaders minor league system.

Is it just me, or is power the slowest rating to develop with these prospects? Like Maselli, I have about 4 guys with green potentials in power but are still suffering in the red in actual ratings.

It's not just you, Chris. Power is always the last skill to develop. It happens this way IRL as well.
