In breaking news, Carlos Camacho, the Mad Popes Assistant GM, has announced the team will bring veteran left-handed batter Fred Madden onto the roster. The 31-year-old journeyman has been somewhere in the Black Mountain Hills of Dakota mashing right-handed pitching when one day his woman ran off and he thought I’m gonna get that boy…but that’s another story altogether.

Camacho bristled at questions, but suggested the veteran would be used off the bench and as both a pinch hitter and pinch runner, and that the recall was necessary because “a little extra offense is pretty much all we need right now, and Fred is just that. A little extra.”

The press conference came to an abrupt halt when Camacho literally disappeared from sight.

Should definitely be a good DH vs RHP for a weaker team. Great leadoff guy. For better teams, he's a good guy off the bench for his speed or OBP skills when you need a run. You'd think he could turn a lot of walks into doubles. Looks like he lost some speed, though.
