Game 1
The Madison bats fell flat again, losing a second straight to the visiting Tropics. The few bright spots on what is turning out to be a very mediocre season were Manobu Shimizu going 3-4 and CF Juan Lopez going 2-4. The two players combined for 6 of the 7 Wolves hits in the game. Carter Morris pitched well enough, but not well enough for the way the Wolves are scoring runs this season. 4IP and 2 runs allowed. He left the game training 2-1. Final Score: Wolves 2 - Tropics - 4
Game 2
The San Fernando Bears came to Shotz for the first time in 2051, looking to beat up on the mediocre Wolves' team. But Buwono Mainaky had something to say about that along with his Madison teammates. Mainkay went 6.1 innings scatting 6 hits and allowing no runs, while the offense was able to put up 4 runs. Leading the way with the bats were Manobu Shimizu (2-4) 2RBI and Bin Wan (1-2) and 2RBI. Manobu Shimizu had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Madison. He came through with a 2-run home run to put Madison in front, 3-0. The loss puts San Fernando at 15-17, and brings the Wolves record to 12-18 on the season. This was the Wolves 2nd Saturday game this season, after having the weekends off pretty much the entire month of April. Final Score: Wolves 4 - Bears - 2
Game 3
The Madison Wolves got a good effort from starter Leonard Thornton in the game versus the Bears. Thornton went 5.2 innings to notch his second win on the season. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 2-2. The win has Madison at 13-18. Salvador Allende, aided the Madison cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second. For the game, the third baseman drove in one run. Lookie here our 2nd winning streak of the season! Final Score: Wolves 4 - Bears - 1
Game 4
The Madison Wolves defeated the San Fernando Bears, 8-4. Doing his part was right fielder Manobu Shimizu, who was 4 for 4 with 3 doubles and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Madison reliever Elijah Campos picked up the win after coming in to follow starter Miyamoto who went 5 IP allowing 3 runs. Campos raised his record to 1-2 on the season. Steven Bursey hit a bases-clearing triple off Ashton Brooks in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Wolves in front, 3-2. Bursey had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5. Hot diggitie! 3 game winning streak! Final Score: Wolves 8 - Bears - 4
Game 5
HYes the Wolves won the game today vs San Fernando, but the win was bittersweet as they team lost SP Michael Shepard in career ending injury. His second torn labrum of his career on pitch number 87. The Wolves extended their current win streak (longest of the season) to 4 games. Five Wolve's relievers came in to finish the game. Shepard ends his career with a win. The Wolves put up 10 hits, led by Alonzo, Bursey, and Vasconcellos, all who had 2 each. Vasconcellos also batted in 2 runs. Final Score: Wolves 5 - Bears - 2
Game 6
Just when you think things are staring to click, along comes a guy named Wullenweber who reminds you of how good you really are. Coming into Des Moines, the team was riding its longest winning streak of the season. Wullenweber tossed 6 innings of 6 hit 2 run ball. On the other side was a struggling Carter Morris, (0-6) on the season. Lasting 4.1 innings before being chased from the game. "I think we need to move Morris out of the starting roation, just to let him get his head right, and work with the coaches to figure out what is going on upstairs" said head coach Will Myers. Ettan Cherukuri went 2-4 in the game and Manobu Shimizuy drove in the only 2 runs for the Wolves via a 2 run HR in the 1st with one out. Final Score: Wolves 2 - Kernals - 11
Game 7
The Madison Wolves got a good effort from starter Buwono Mainaky (5-2) on the season, in defeating the Des Moines Kernels at Edward Murphy Memorial Stadium. The final score was 9-1. Picking up the save was Todd Stone, his 4th, while Juan Lopez picks up his 3rd hold on the season. Madison has a record of 16-19, placing them 7th in the Frick League Heartland Division. The game was close going into the top of the 9th, but the Wolves put up 6 runs as insurance. "I have no f**king idea what go into the boys.." said hitting coach Ed Newman. Final Score: Wolves 9 - Kernals - 1
