May 9th, 2051 - It happen very quickly for Madison Wolves 25yo SP Michael Shepard. He felt a pop in his right arm as he threw a pitch in the bottom of the 7th inning to San Fernandos Marclleo Custello who hit a hard single into left. "Once I saw that grimace on his face, I knew what it was" said team trainer Chandler Hutchins. "I was just hoping it wouldn't be this bad." "He was pitching a great game tossing 6 innings scattering 5 hits and allowing only one run." Pitching Coach Ricardo Vargas added. On the season Shepard was the back-end starter of the Wolves staff, tossing 18.2 innings with a 3.38 ERA while allowing a .226 BABIP. He felt he had found a home.

Drafted in Round 2 in 2044 (63rd overall) out of Buffalo Wild Wings HS at the age of 18. He quickly made his way to the now defunct Florida Prospects league appearing in 9 games tossing 13.2 innings and posting a 3.29 ERA. He was then quickly moved up to Charlottesville in that same season where he moved into the starting lineup role. He appeared in 8 games and starting 8 tossing 32 innings with an ERA of 5.62. He then slowly made his way up the Wolves minor league system, 2045 had stops in Saint Johns & Boulder. In 2047 he moved on up to AA Burlington, and during that season moved his way up to AAA by the age of 21. He spent 3 seasons with South Bend (2047-2049), and in 2048 he did suffer a season ending injury, (he tore the same labrum), and was out for 7months. He came back in 2049 with AAA and looked like he had fully recovered posting a 2.25 ERA in 107.1 innings of work. In 2049 he got his first taste of the Brewster appearing in 13 games at the end of the season pitching 16 innings and posting a 2.25 ERA. That was good enough for in 2050 he made his first opening day roster as a reliever for Madison. He appeared in 10 games throwing 42.2 innings with an ERA of 5.06. With the departure of SP Brian KIng in 2051 Shepard was asked to fill in the final SP spot in the Wolves rotation. Things were looking up for this 25yo. A month into the season he had a 1-1 record with a 3.38 ERA over 18.2 innings pitched, and then with one pitch that 2048 injury came back.

For his Career in the Brewster Baseball Association he was 139-116 with a 3.96 ERA starting 116 games and throwing 593 innings. He had a career .274 BABIP and posted a .8 pWAR.
