That's What Cheesehead - 99.10 - July POTM

Here are our organizational players of the month for the month of July...

Batter of the Month

Bopper Kengos
What? Four offensive players with an OPS over 1.000!? Another player that hit 11, yes 11, homeruns for the month but not a 1.000+ OPS. Three players with over 25 RBI for the month and 3 players with a batting over .350? So how do you choose who is your best player for the month? Well, you give it to Kengos of course. Bopper Kengos hit .417/.438/.777 with 10 homeruns and 30 RBI. Now I haven't studied the rest of the league, but I have a difficult time believing there is an offense more potent than the one I inherited.

Pitcher of the Month

Chet Steadman
While I have a hard time believe anyone in the JL had a better July that Kengos, nobody in the JL had a better month than Chet Steadman, at least according to the baseball writers that voted him as the JL's top pitcher for the month. Steadman went 4-0 in 6 starts with a 1.80 ERA in 45 innings pitched. Steadman struck out 37 and walked 11 while posting a 1.11 WHIP. Chet is now 13-5 on the year with a 2.72 ERA in 182.0 innings pitched.

AAA Player of the Month

Jerry Bostic
We didn't have many exceptional standouts in the month of July at our Triple-A affiliate in Nashville. Bostic was the only one that had a strong resume for the POTM by going 1-1 and recording 5 saves in 9 appearances for the month. He had a 0.93 ERA in 9.2 innings pitched with 14 strikeouts.

AA Player of the Month

Nathan Gordon
Gordon isn't much of a prospect within our farm system, but he had a nice enough month of July to capture the AA Batter of the Month Award for his league. Gordon hit .415/.462/.602 for the month with 3 homeruns, 20 RBI, and 29 runs scored in 118 at-bats.

A Player of the Month

Robert Kramer
Kramer was perfect in his 12 outings in July. He recorded 9 saves, allowed just 3 hits, and struck out 10 in his 9.2 innings of work. His WHIP was 0.41 and his ERA was 0.000

Rookie League Player of the Month

Daniel Syratt
Syratt is probably too advanced to be in our rookie league. But after sitting on the bench for a couple of months in Single-A behind our top catching prospect, management sent Syratt down to rookie league play to get some playing time. In July, Syratt hit .388/.479/.637 with 4 homeruns and 12 RBI.
