After a solid month, here are the organization's top players of the month for June...(Note, this will be tricky since the HTML for the monthly stats hasn't been updated since May 21.)
Hitter of the Month
Bolt Vanderhugen
If you win the Batter of the month award for the entire JL, then you have to win it for your team. Bolt had a month of June that some players can only dream of. In fact, some players can't put up the numbers for a season that Bolt put up in June alone. For example, how many players can't even hit 14 homeruns in a season? Well, Bolt did it for the month of June ALONE! Bolt hit .381/.412/.788 with the aforementioned 14 homeruns and 31 runs batted in. That's a 1.199 OPS for the month. But look at what he did in the final week alone. In his last 16 at-bats, Bolt hit .500/.500/1.438 with 5 homeruns and 8 RBI. He had an OPS of 1.938 last week alone ! No, that is not a typo! Another highlight of his month was compiling a 21 game hitting streak.
Pitcher of the Month
Jessie "Vaccuum" Wright
Is it ironic that the Wolves started playing better after Wright was put into the rotation? Perhaps it is just a coincidence, perhaps its not. Regardless, Wright had a great final half of the month and so did the Wolves. Wright appeared in 9 games this month with 3 of them as a starter. He went 3-0 for the month with a 1.34 ERA in 33.2 innings pitched. He struck out 34 and walked just 10 in that stretch. In his 3 starts, he averaged just over 8.1 innings pitched per game. He allowed just 2 runs in 3 starts and struck out 25 in those starts. Wright may just be the answer to solving the Wolves starting pitching woes.
The minor leaguers for this month will have to wait until I get home and get game access in order to see their monthly breakdowns...

Gates has had him in bullpen. I was giving Gates the benefit of the doubt with some of the roster moves before I took over but I had to move Wright into the rotation. He has been a stud there thus far in 4 starts.recte44 wrote:WOW, where in the heck did Wright come from?? Damn!
