Stevie Bodine (SP)
Previous Ranking: 1 (even)
In 6 starts this season, Bodine is 1-2 with a 4.46 ERA. He is averaging over 5 2/3 inning per start, with 4 quality starts so far. His 2 rough starts have skewed his numbers quite a bit, but if he maintains consistency, he is expected to be in Triple-A by June and Majors by end of year.
2. Angel De La Cruz (INF)
Previous Ranking: 2 (even)
De La Cruz is consistent. That is the one word to describe him... consistent. Everywhere he goes, he puts up above average numbers and plays solid defense. Early on in Single-A, he has played shortstop. As his career continues, he is expected to be a second baseman full time.
3. Tony Radke (SP)
Previous Ranking: 4 (+1)
Tony Radke has not begun his season yet.
4. Robbie Tyre (OF)
Previous Ranking: 7 (+3)
Tyre came to Chicago in a trade last season for Mike LeBlanc. Since coming to Chicago, Tyre has flown up the prospect rankings. If he can improve his defense, he looks to be an everyday left fielder with some power.
5. Tony Lopez
Previous Ranking: 5 (even)
Lopez came over last season in a trade with Las Vegas. He hasn't been great this season so far with a 2-3 record in 6 starts and a 4.01 ERA. His accuracy has been his biggest hurdle with 16 walks in 33 innings.
6. Azim bin Ghalib (SP)
Previous Ranking: 10 (+4)
BIG Movement! Ghalib was a top prospect for a few years based on projection, but results have never been there. This year, Ghalib has been outstanding. In 5 starts, he is 2-1 with a 0.90 ERA and a 0.80 WHIP. Ghalib is on the 40-man roster, so there is a bit of urgency to get him to the majors by the end of 2058 to see what he has before he runs out of options.
7. Doug Mattern (1B)
Previous Ranking: 8 (+1)
Mattern is a corner utility player. He can play first base, but also corner outfield spots. He is in his 3rd year with Chicago, despite only being 18. This year, however, is his first full season year and he has not disappointed. In 23 games, he is hitting .403 with an on base of .473. Due to his age, he is not going to be sped up in his development, but early signs look good.
8. Trent Moyer (1B/OF)
Previous Ranking: 3 (-5)
Trent Moyer was the #3 ranked prospect coming into the season and is on the 40-man roster. He has the best power in the organization, but he lacks a position and ability to hit for average. He has struggled badly so far this season, which is his first full season in Triple-A. At 21, he still has a few years to develop and turn it around.
9. Bill Barrett (OF)
Previous Ranking: 18 (+9)
Barrett was a 4th round pick last year and has played like a 1st round pick so far. He saw time in Spring Training, where the experience was invaluable. So far this year, in 26 games, he has 4 doubles, 4 triples, 6 homeruns and a .375 batting average. Barrett was a college draftee, so his development speed is a bit quicker than others.
10. Salih Ali (1B)
Previous Ranking: 6 (-4)
Ali went down slightly in the rankings, but that is not to speak badly of him. He is putting up respectable numbers in Double-A at 21 years old. Ali is thought of to be the first baseman of the future within the organization. That is still the expectation today.

You'd think Bodine would be mowing down AA hitters, but you may be right about the two blowups.

I like this. Interesting to see folks shift down when Cochran arrives.
