2056.01: Tyler Signs with Chicago

Free agency is just under way and Chicago has reached an agreement with one of their top targets, catcher Clinton Tyler. Tyler comes to the Black Sox after 8 seasons with the Valencia Stars. With the signing, it is expected that Tyler will be the starting catcher for Chicago entering the 2056 season.
General Manager Kevin Chmura wrote:It’s no secret we needed to improve at the catcher position in 2056. We love what Rafael Elias brings defensively, but we need a bit more offense from the position. With a team of Clinton & Rafael, we believe we have one of the best defensive tandems in the league. Offensively, we know it’s a glaring hole for us, but between the two, we think it can be ok for us.
Naturally, the question becomes – what about Jared Webber, Will Bennett and Earl Baxter. Jared & Earl will begin 2056 in Triple-A. Will Bennett, on the other hand, is a player we are openly shopping. When we took over in 2054, we thought Will could be our catcher of the future and planned for it, but after 2 seasons, a change of scenery is for the best.
