We get very few League Polls posted for Participation Points each season. That's cool as there is certainly no minimum desired on specific efforts. But, looking at the "League Polls" forum I think part of the reason could be confusion on what that PP category is intended to entail. So I'd like to clarify and, hopefully, spur some creative thinking and more - hopefully entertaining - polls.
The Governing Board does use that forum for polls regarding the functioning of the league and organizational proposals ("Limit the length of contract extensions?", "Get rid of FA compensation?", "Implement designated hitters?").
However, the PP earning category of "League Polls" would be those like "Biggest surprise team of 2006?", "Which team had the most effective offseason?", or "When will Hurley Reyes hit career HR number 400?". The kind of "for the hell of it but also interesting" polls ESPN constantly posts in their "SportsNation Polls" section (they used to be posted all over the place). Sometimes they're somewhat "serious" like "Who got shafted the most in the latest All-Star selections?" and sometimes tongue-in-cheek like "Who has the worst reputation: Lance Armstrong or Manti Te'o?" Also, there are some examples now of polls that aren't just standard "one poll, one answer" things like their current "NBA 5-on-5: Under-25 stars" poll that is like an elimination tournament sort of in that the choices are "Russell Westbrook or James Harden", "Blake Griffin vs. Kevin Love", or "Kyrie Irving or Derrick Rose" (that last one is a really tough choice).
Just wanted to hopefully spark some ideas in this category.
