Re: 2057 Midseason JL Nebraska winner
I'd like to suggest that you use rWAR for pitchers. I believe that it is a better metric for this purpose. It adjusts for opponents' scoring ability, team defense, and parks. WAR relies on FIP. Pitchers who succeed in band boxes deserve more credit than pitchers in parks like Montreal's pitcher-friendly park.
In this example, of course, Silva is still the king.
rWAR (as of last sim)
Silva 4.8
Marroquin 4.6
Zorba 4.2
Iwamoto 3.6
Corfield 3.4

Feel free to vote accordingly. I just listed top 5 based on WAR in game since it was easiest and non-subjective.Bob Breum wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 8:15 pmI'd like to suggest that you use rWAR for pitchers. As I said, Silva is the obvious choice either way in this instance. If you go to Statistics, rWAR is listed and is equally non-subjective. I find that many folks are not familiar with rWAR for pitchers in OOTP, and I just felt obligated to promote it as a valuable metric. YMMV.Dington wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 9:57 pmFeel free to vote accordingly. Re: 2057 Midseason JL Nebraska winner
I just used the default WAR on the statistics leaders page. Wasn’t even sure which WAR they used. Maybe they have both, but I just went off the first one I saw.Bob Breum wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 11:40 pmAs I said, Silva is the obvious choice either way in this instance.
