A quick look at money spent on the IL across the BBA so far this year.
I saw Ron posting his charts this morning showing injuries for specific teams across the league. I had just recently looked at my injury list data in Stats+ and noticed that I have paid almost $30M to players while they were on the IL this season. Those two things made me curious. I wanted to see how my IL experience compares to other teams around the league. I put together a spreadsheet containing the information and thought I might as well share it with all of you.
I took the $ on IL and the IL Days straight from Stats+ and then decided it would be interesting to see how much money each team spent on each IL day. I did confirm my suspicions that I had spent the most money on the IL this season. Even with the third highest number of IL days, I have spent the most per day by a considerable margin. ($58.6k to $36.9k for Edmonton.)
The difference between the lowest per day ($2.8k for San Fernando and Atlantic City) and my league leading $58.6k was surprising. I hope you find this information interesting as well.

Interesting metric. Not sure what it says, but I like it.
Ultimately, to have a high $/day rate you'd need well-paid players out and no low-paid players out. So I guess maybe it says the team has relatively few injuries, but mostly of high value players? That would be Nashvillle's situation, for example. And they score high on this metric.

I’m having trouble getting it to let me edit it and add an attachment. So I’ll attach it here.

Yeah… my problem is not when my regulars don’t play…it’s when they do.
