Batters Type B is 1.55

SP (Over 50% starts) Type A cutoff is 3.45
SP Type B is 2.55

RP (Or SP with less than 50% starts) Type B cutoff is 0.8

I screwed up the list. L'Arch is at -0.2 WAR and shouldn't be a Type B. Im going through it again.

Update. L'Arch was the only one that I screwed up. Late night league work gets ya.

I hate to call out this list because I know everyone works hard. There are multiple players on here that shouldn't be.

David Simpson had a negative WAR last year
Lye had 0.8 WAR last year
Vega averaged 0.85 WAR
Cordell Vaughn had 0.5 WAR last year
Ashford negative WAR

Those were just some I checked because they didn't pass the eye test. I suspect there are more because the list seems suspiciously large.I don't know WAR cutoffs. If you want, post them and we can help crosscheck it.

I think the Constitution is wrong. At some point, I vaguely recall while you were gone, Ron, that they changed it to be based on past 2 years, not just the immediately preceding season, but I could be remembering it wrong? Or maybe it WAS 2 years and is now 1 only?

The constitution says two years average, but type B have to both meet the two years and have qualified this year, too.

Free Agent Compensation Picks
Compensation for BBA lost Free Agents will be provided to the player’s former team in the form of supplemental draft picks. Playoff teams are not eligible to receive compensation picks, no matter what type of free agent they may lose. Non-playoff teams that lose a Type A Free Agent will receive a selection in the 1st supplemental round of the amateur draft (between the 1st and 2nd rounds). Non-playoff teams who lose a Type B Free Agent will receive a selection in the 2nd supplemental round (between the 2nd and 3rd rounds). These designations will be based solely upon the WAR totals for said players from the immediately preceding season.

Note: Players who failed to meet vesting requirements or who were willfully declined team options will NOT be granted compensation eligibility regardless of whether or not they meet the threshold. Players who willfully decline their player options will be, though. Players who were traded in the most recent season are not eligible.

Players will be ranked by WAR in three groups: All Position Players, SP, and RP; and these calculations will be based on a two year average. For Type A players a qualifying average two-year WAR is sufficient; for Type B free agents they must qualify within the calendar year and have maintained a two-year average.

- Type A Designation:
SP Free Agent in the top 14%
Position players in the Top 14%
- Type B Designation:
SP Free Agent in the top 15-32%
Position players in the Top 15-32%
RP Free Agent in the top 20%
For purposes of Type designation, a SP is defined as a pitcher who threw twice as many starts as relief appearances in the immediately preceding season.

There is no way a player who had a negative WAR should be eligible for a comp pick. I took a shot and this is what I got. Note that I didn't do a full investigation on players already signed. I have Socrates on here, but it's possible I missed someone.

1. I had to go back over list, removing Phoenix players, because I was trained to think they missed the playoffs on the last sim of the season.
2. Bugbie and Gonzalez made the list on a legal loophole. Hat tip to those GM's if it was intentional. I hadn't picked up on it till just now.

Fountain is not eligible for compensation. Louisville voided the team option year.

I don't mind double checking if I have the time. The rules are very complicated, and I would not be surprised if I got some wrong also. I can just barely keep up with the leagues pace as it is though.
