Papyrus 2059.3 Kamal bin Isa excelling in development lab

Post by JRamirez » Sun Apr 21, 2024 7:40 pm

Ramadan is over, and two Muslims are now eating up the development lab. The first is outfielder Kamal bin Isa (8/6/4/3/10 old style). His potential contact increased from 7 to 8 during the conversion from 24 to 25. His current contact went from 6 to 8. He celebrated his 21st birthday last week and is a potential 10 fielder. So is that where the team has him doing at their new training lab? No. The youngster was asked to work on his gap power (currently 6 out of 6). "He's durable. We feel good about his future," said the Pharaoh's trainer Takaaki Yamamoto. "The guy's a natural. He's excelling at our training facility."

Kamal will compete for the leftfield spot with Boulis Bin Altair. Altair is the brightest star in the constellation Aquila, the eagle. The word Altair itself has the meaning "the flying eagle." Maybe he should join the NFL. Altair (pot 5/8/8/5/4) is the number two prospect in the GBC. He is "on track" to improve his contact quality.

Everybody else in the lab is frustrated. These include hitters Guang Li (age 23), who is a 3 out of 5 in contact, and training in that. Also, Bannon McThomas (23) is training for better contact. He led the GBC with 100 walks last season; he also hit 28 home runs. Those are the three guys trying to improve contact.

Dima Rozinov (21), who's been handed the starting shortstop position, will try to increase his gap power. His expected double play partner, veteran Prabhu Vogelsang, will work to improve his defense. We're aiming for increase in arm strength (a 3!). "With a 3 he still won the best glove award at second base." Bench trainer James 'Slap' Monger' is rated legendary at teaching infield

Pitchers in the lab are team ace (31 years old) Bani Marita, seeking to improve his control. And Francisco Molina (age 33), who'll work on velocity (currently 94-94). Sokollu Karpat (24), a 7/5/6, is in there to increase movement.

That's it from here.

"Wait! Wait! Wait! There's also, you know, the guy. Mr. Cairo. Mr. Franchise. The guy who led the GBC in hits, stolen bases, batting, OBP and posted a 7.9 WAR (making $18M). Blair 'Breezy' Peyton, signed through the end of the upcoming 2059 season. What's he going to be working on in the training facility?

Something.

I would love a player with 100 walks!
