The week in review
The first week of the Swain tenure in Buenos Aires ended with a 2-4 record, including being swept at the hands of the GBC basement-dwelling Tokyo Pearls. This leaves the Brisas 62-61 and 5.5 games back from the three-way tie for a spot in the post-season. Conceding the sweep to the Pearls is a big blow to their post-season ambitions, especially as they followed it up with a 2-1 series win over the 2nd-place Cairo Pharaohs.
BUA @ TOK
Game 1 – BUA 4 TOK 6
Two 2-run homers in the first inning sent the Pearls on their way to a win over the Brisas in the opening game of the series, as Brisas starter Deron Alexander gives up 5 runs (including 3 earned) in 5.0 innings. The Brisas did have the chance to tie the game in the 9th with the tying run at the plate and a runner on third, but Roberto Torres on the final out ends up weakly flying out to center to end the game.
Game 2 – BUA 1 TOK 5
Once again, the Brisas lose out despite outhitting their opponents, with the only Brisas run of the game coming off Benjamin Chapman hitting into a fielders choice to tie the game in the 3rd. It was ultimately a decent outing for starter Darren Asseldonk, who struck out 7 in 7.0 innings but did give up 4 of the 5 runs in the game.
Game 3 – BUA 1 TOK 5
The Brisas are outdone completely to concede the series sweep, as a 3-run first inning for Tokyo gives then an unassailable advantage. Brisas ace António Ramirez struggles in his 5.0 innings of work, striking out just 2 and giving up 8 hits in that time. Reliever You-cheng Hang gives up the final 2-run home run to seal the Brisas’ fate.
CAI @ BUA
Game 1 – CAI 1 BUA 3
Buenos Aires ride off the back of multi-hit games for top Brisas offensive player César Torres, as well as Craig Gregory to secure the win, while Marvin Winston goes 8.2 IP and strikes out 7 in a very strong pitching outing.
Game 2 – CAI 3 BUA 4
A Reilly Eddy walk-off sac-fly secures a dramatic victory for the Brisas, who edge a tight affair to take a 2-0 series lead. Talbot Purcell rewards the faith paid in him by Swain following his promotion back to the GBC roster with a multi-hit game and an RBI, while spot starter Ostoja Omeragic makes his case for a more permanent spot in the rotation with a quality start, though he does give up 4 walks in the process. More on this pitching competition to come in a later feature!
Game 3 – CAI 9 BUA 3
Aussie starter Richard Balgera gets rocked in a very poor outing, being pulled after only 3.2 innings having given up 10 hits and 7 runs, all earned. The offense fails to find any rhythm, and leaves several runners on base in what is already emerging as a disturbing pattern for the Brisas.
Stay tuned to Brisas Watch for more analysis into the Brisas ongoing pitching controversy, and how it might shape the upcoming trade deadline for the team!

To make participation point tracking easier, it might be helpful to title your TNs with .01, .02, etc. instead of continuing off the previous GMs TN count. It will help make sure you get proper credit.

Noted! Am I good for my first couple of posts? Do they need to be fixed at all?

I would recommend editing the titles to 2056.01 and 2056.02
