Buenos Aires, Argentina

Buenos Aires Brisas 52-83 .385 33.5 GB L10: 2-8 Strk: L4

The Brisas are just very bad. These aren't Bomb Brisas, these are deadly winds tearing out the hearts of fans. Buenos Aires left August with a 4-game losing skid. But that's actually a positive way to look at the fact that the team has won just 2 of their last 19. During the stretch the Brisas have been outscored 118 to 7. How does that even happen?

Sydney 1-4 L
In the rubber game of a 3-game series a pitching duel broke out. Buenos Aires starter Keneki Umina allowed only 3 runs on 5 hits while reliever Todd Walley dealt the Sharks only 2 more hits and 1 run. An Odemar Lock solo shot in the 2nd was the only time a Brisas player touched home plate.

@ Cairo 5-3 W
@ Cairo 5-8 L
@ Cairo 2-3 L
Buenos Aires reeled into Cairo and tripped into a win as they went up 3-0 in the 4th and held on for the 5-3 victory. The bullpen was rock solid and 3 Brisas went deep with Hisanobu Takahashi adding a triple for good measure. The next night, the Brisas scrambled for a 3-2 lead in the 5th, but watched the defense implode in the bottom of that inning allowing 4 runs with the final scoreline an 8-5 Cairo win. In the finale, Cairo took the 3-game series as, again, Buenos Aires looked good in opening up a 2-run lead in the 1st, but the Brisas would allow 2 in the 5th and 1 more in the 6th to lose 2-3.

@ Tokyo 5-11 L
@ Tokyo 2-8
The last 2 games of the Sim, and the month, were the first of a 3-game set in Tokyo. In the opener the Pearls jumped on the Brisas in the 1st inning for 5 runs completely knocking the wind out of a team that was hoping for a light. Starter Jeremy Donahue went Doc Jekyll again allowing those 5 plus another for good measure before being lifted after the 2nd. And, finally, the Pearls dojo shows no mercy as the brought August to an ugly, but final, end jumping on a Brisas starter for 3 in the 1st and cruising to an 8-2 victory.
