Buenos Aires Brisas 50-72 .410 26.5 GB L10: 3-7 Strk: L6

Well, there's a reason losing teams are losing teams. Buenos Aires followed 6-1 and 3-2 Sims with an 0-6 clunker in which they allowed opposing teams to score 42 runs (7.0 R/G). The Brisas scored 17.

@ Sao Paulo 6-7 L
Buenos Aires most consistent pitcher this season, SP Alberto Castaneda, was abused by the Pilots to the tune of 5 ER and 2 HR in just 4.2 innings. Four of the 5 runs were scored in the 1st inning, so Castaneda did bounce back until the 5th. This was the rubber game of a 3-game series.

@ Tokyo 1-7 L
@ Tokyo 2-7 L
@ Tokyo 4-10 L
The Brisas then traveled to Tokyo and were distracted by the scenery, obviously, as they gave up 7, 7, and then 10 runs in the 3-game series. Bright new star LHP Nemak Vedat got touched up for 4 ER in the opener made worse by the fact that they were on 3 HR. In the 2nd game, the Brisas starter made it thru the first 5 innings giving up only 1 R. But reliever Du-yang Mah got roughed up for 3 runs in just 0.2 IP to put the game out of reach for Buenos Aires. The 3rd game was much the same as starter Keneki Umina was actually very effective allowing only 2 ER and fanning 4, but the first arm out of the bullpen, righty Bernie Lum, gave up a 2-run HR and 4 singles that translated to 5 ER in the 7th.

Cairo 4-5 L
Cairo 0-6 L
The Brisas then welcomed Cairo for a mid-week 3-game series. Buenos Aires almost pulled this one off, carrying a 3-2 lead then a 3-3 tie into the late innings, but Du-yang Mah was again plagued by the long ball as he gave up 2 solo shots in the 7th and the home team fell by a run. In the 2nd game, Buenos Aires fans could only watch an admire 8.2 innings of shutout, 1-hit ball served up by the Pharaohs starter Grigore Balas. Unfortunately, Brisas SP Castaneda faltered again in allowing 5 runs on 7 hits in only 4 innings.
