A losing month of July, recapped here, had the Brisas chasing a lot of leads and so needing a lot of runs. The team scored 4.24 runs per game which shows just how much they were trying to cover for the pitching staff.
BRISAS BATTER OF THE MONTH - JULY
1B Odemar Lock
2055: 93 G, 11 2B, 23 HR, 46 RBI, 36 BB, 109 K, .229/.317/.484, 129 OPS+ +1.0 WAR
July: 25 G, 21 H, 3 2B, 8 HR, 17 RBI, .259/.295/.593
Acquired by Buenos Aires from London on the last day of June, there was some trepidation that his poor 2055 campaign would continue or get worse. His first few games didn't provide hope as he had just 2 hits in his first 8 games. "Joining a team in the middle of a season is tricky. You have the pressure to impress your teammates, the fans, and yourself. I was definitely pressing when I arrived here," said Lock.
That was when he stepped it up and had 3 2-homer games within the span of a week. He produced 15 RBI then went 4-5 with 3 runs and 1 RBI on a double in Athens on the 23rd.
July: 1B Odemar Lock - 25 G, 21 H, 3 2B, 8 HR, 17 RBI, .259/.295/.593
