The newly formed Libyan Generals continue to add major league talent to their organization in hopes of competing in their initial UMEBAseason. This week it was announced that 28 year old Fernand Richard and 26 year old C.J. Shade have been signed to be a part of the rotation. Neither player has started much over the past two seasons while trying to stick with BBA but Libyan GM Herb DeSpain said that may have been what lured them to the Generals. "Every pitcher wants to be a starter," DeSpain stated. "That's where the big money is. If they do well here then someone in the BBA will take a chance on them next year. We have a great first season, it's a win-win!" Also signed to a major league deal was OF Altificio Roseta. The 23 year old was brought in to compete for a spot in the Libyan outfield but was not promised a starting position. He brings speed, defense, and leadership to a team looking for all three. Finally 34 year old BBA legend(his words, not ours) James Braddock was brought in on a minor leauge deal as a relief pitcher. Braddock won three Landis Memorial Series rings mainly as a reserve outfielder but he did see some time on the mound.
