As the season draws ever closer, the Portland Lumberjacks continue to look for pieces to help build a competitive team for the 2058 campaign. The latest addition to a depleted pitching staff comes in the form of 31 year old, right handed starter Eng-hee Kin.

Kin has spent the last two seasons with division rival Long Beach after spending the early portion of his career in the Global Baseball Consortium. With Long Beach, Kin compiled a 23-16 overall record with ERAs of 2.80 and 4.22. His two seasons led him to totaling 6.1 WAR, though 4.9 of that was in on season back in 2056.

In the GBC, he spent 3 seasons each with Bucharest and Sao Paulo. He struggled early in his career, but found success in 2052 when he totaled a 4.0 WAR in 32 starts with Sao Paulo. He posted 7.8 total WAR in his 6 seasons in the GBC.

"It's a risky move" said team AGM Kate Fiscus. "Kin has had some ups and downs in his career and many scouts are leery of his lack of movement on his pitches. It's what has led to him allowing 46 homeruns over two seasons here in the GBC. But he has high velocity and has shown he has the ability to get big league hitters out. Fortunately for him and us, we have the ability and luxury right now to take some risks and are willing to hitch some of that on Kin's wagon."

Kin signed a 3 year deal worth a total of $24 million. He'll make exactly $8 million per season. Barring something unfroeseen, he'll likely be called on to be the team's #1 starter in 2058.

Nice deal for you. If he just has a little luck on HR then he's pretty good.

High risk/high reward seems like exactly the right move for the 2058 lumberjacks.
