Hold My Log - 57.30 - Wins Return in Weeks 10 and 11

Just when you're ready to stick a fork in the Portland Lumberjacks season and begin focusing on next year, they go and win a few ball games and suck you right back in to thinking they have a slight chance. After a 3-3 week that saw the Lumbjeracks win 3 of 4 against Valencia, Portland went 4-2 in week 11 that was highlighted by taking 3 of 4 against a Heartland team. Sitting at 35-39, the team is still a ways out of thinking their even remotely in the hunt for a wild card spot, but the team is just 6 games back so it isn't out of the realm of possiblity.

Ken Sparks highlighted the last couple of weeks on the mound with some outstanding starts. He won back to back starts against Bikini and Chicago in which he went over 7 innings in both starts while allowing 2 runs or less in both. The Bikini win was met with some controversy after the series when GM Ron Collins @RonCo accused Portland Assistant GM Kate Fiscus of some shenanigans to sabotage their team and one of their pitchers.

GM Chris Wilson responded to the allegations by stating "I still don't even know where Bikini is! Here I am, in Bikini, and I have no clue where I am. All I know is the games start fucking early here."

Kate Fiscus added a little fuel to the fire with her comments by stating "It's beneath me to even consider sabotaging a team like Bikini. They aren't even a threat to us right now and we're completely focused on taking down the big fish in the division."

Portland has a ways to go yet before toppling the big fish. Two of the 5 losses these last two weeks came at the hands of the San Fernando Bears. Next week, Portland hosts Sacramento before traveling to that Hell Hole that is Vancouver.
