Overall, the Flyers played 6 games, winning 3 on the week. They split 2 against Charm City, won 2 of 3 against New Orleans, and lost the opener against Montreal.
Mauro Mendoza was excellent again in the middle game of the series against Charm City. He allowed 2 runs in 7 innings after pitching 7 scoreless innings his last time out. Manny Toledo crushed 2 home runs and drove in 5 runs.
Starting pitcher Carl Vincent made his return from the injured list in the finale against the Jimmies. The Charm City crowd welcomed their former pitcher to the field with a nice round of applause as he walked to the mound in the bottom of the 1st inning. Then they cheered even louder when Vincent gave up a 3 run home run later that inning putting his former team ahead in a game easily won by the Jimmies 10-3.
Two days later, Fuad Demirel led the Flyers to an 8-7 win by going 5-5 with 4 singles and an RBI double. It was the first 5 hit game of his career.
The next day, Manny Toledo hit 2 more home runs, this time driving in 3 runs to propel the Flyers past the Crawdads 7-5.
Andy Bishop continued his hot start by hitting .389 for the week. He now has a wRC+ of 201 in 59 at bats. He currently leads the league with 5 triples.
