Re: UMEBA-FAQ And Interest List
Thanks Randy. Joseph, we'll get you set up with Manama following tomorrow's sim.
Change of plans. With no communication from Nick (salas) we're going to assign Joseph to Mumbai, and Randy you can hold on to Manama for now. I can help out with the club while you're without internet.

Re: UMEBA-FAQ And Interest List
FYI - Now that we have relative ratings, you can select which league to show the ratings relative to. Top right corner of the player pages. You can select UMEBA to see how the players stack up to their UMEBA peers.
There may be a way to have the default be UMEBA, but I'm not sure how to do it.

Re: UMEBA-FAQ And Interest List
I would encourage all GM's even those not in the UMEBA to take a moment to play around with that. It really helps you get an understanding of how the relative ratings work and how it can be very beneficial. For example look at the mighty Tuna Baca on my team both with ratings set relative to BBA and then with ratings relative to UMEBA. Its a profound change.Lane wrote: ↑Sun Feb 03, 2019 1:15 pmFYI - Now that we have relative ratings, you can select which league to show the ratings relative to. Top right corner of the player pages. *reluctantly raising my hand*
I'm having fun but spots are filling up fast. So if it's time, it's time.
But I shall return to the UMEBA to retire in about 5-7 seasons after I make Brooklyn great again.

Re: UMEBA-FAQ And Interest List
I actually chose Ted- Alan has done some things with Istanbul so let's give him some more time.
It'll be a moot point soon enough anyways as there's what, two spots left?

Ya I'm actually moving to Manama next week, but will have no game access until then. Hopefully you have a good tenure there!!mbranda41 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 07, 2019 4:05 pmWas going to ask how/why Manama was chosen for me - but this answered it!Lane wrote: ↑Sat Feb 02, 2019 4:56 pmThanks Randy. Re: UMEBA-FAQ And Interest List
This is fine. I'd meant to do some news stuff an rebranding for Baghdad, who in the interest of decency really does need a different name. But I never got around to it. Feel free to give anyone Baghdad whenever. Just let me know.

Tick, tick, tick....
FYI, don’t feel the need to ask when it’s Cairo’s time. Just let me know.
And if it needs some looking after later, I’ll be happy to take it back again

Re: UMEBA-FAQ And Interest List
Is there a rundown of UMEBA rules available?recte44 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 5:14 pmYes this is a work in progress.bschr682 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 5:09 pmSome things need fixing yet. Development budget is on and shouldn't be. And we definitely need a rundown of some of the rules that will be different. Is there a salary cap? We sticking with 25 man rosters? Also slack needs an UMEBA channel and the forums need some fleshing out in the UMEBA department.
Also you nailed that team logo recte. Exactly the one I wanted.

Re: UMEBA-FAQ And Interest List
And while we’re thinking about rules and tweaking ... could we open up the schedule next season so all 8 teams play each other at least a bit? Playing the same three teams over and over is a little odd ... not to mention repetitive. Not sure what the thought was behind the scheduling, but that’s really my only issue with the league, at this point.
I like the notion that we’re kind of a poor relation to the BBA with a chip on our shoulder. At least from the writing angle, it gives you lots of fun material to work with.
And, aside from Rule 6, I don’t think there should be trading or other formal interaction with the BBA - I would think we’re kind of like the Japanese major league. We do our own thing, for the most part, and the BBA does its own thing.
Also, and I know I’m in the minority here, I actually like that it’s a challenge to sign free agents. The hunt for pitchers for my AA affiliate was pretty interesting...
