The Return of Hammer Time!

Post by Jess64 » Fri Apr 19, 2024 7:37 pm

Hammer Time Returns to Jerusalem! (Jerusalem, IR) The Jerusalem Hebrew Hammers had ended another season of "almost" as they almost made the playoffs. The team has seen many up and downs seasons in its history and the managers have come....and either went off to bigger and better things or just sort of went.

The team has dreamed of stability and having a General Manager who is not looking for the next best thing. Once again, owner Khaliq Rajput approached the podium to introduce, yet again, the new Hebrew Hammers General Manager. As Rajput laid his hands on the sides of the podium and started his well-known introduction of the newest person to take the helm of the storied organization, a familiar face made his way to the back of the stage. Jesse Stollings, a name from the past, walked with grim determination across the stage to stand behind Rajput. The murmur through the crowd grew so loud that it actually drowned out the words that Rajput had said so many times..."I would like to welcome our new General Manager.....Jesse Stollings back to Jerusalem and are excited to see him once again at the helm of the Hebrew Hammers." But the look across Rajput's face showed that he was not pleased with the reaction of the reporters. As Rajput turned to say something to Stollings the questions started to be shouted from the reporters who had gathered to hear the announcement.

Why was he brought back? What can we accomplish with him at the helm? Didnt he leave last time to go to Sacramento? Is he the best person to take us to the playoffs? How do the players feel about his return? Is he going to clean house? What about the staff vacancies?

Rajput turned and with firm conviction stated, in no uncertain terms, "Yes, Stollings left abruptly to go to Sacramento, yes, he left as quickly from there as he had arrived, and yes, he had shortly returned to Sao Paulo before leaving again." As he continued, it became apparent that he felt this was the right decision, "Who in this room has not had family situations that pulled us away from what we love? Who has not lost a family member?" He continued, "If you havent, count yourself lucky because it will happen one day...and it isnt easy." Stollings dipped his head as team owner Khaliq Rajput seemed to run down the laundry list of Stollings' challenges since he decided to leave Jerusalem the first time.

As Rajput paused to take a breath, Stollings approached the arrayed microphones and pulled a sheet of paper from his pocket. As he unfolded it the look of determination that was so well-known during his first stint with the organization once again was on display as he said, "I am not going to rehash the past. I am here now and I look to bring a winning attitude to this team. The team deserves it, the city deserves it, the fans deserve it." As he looked back down at the paper he slowly folded it, put it back in his pocket, and stepped back from the podium and raised his voice to say....

"This is the return of Hammer Time, so the GBC better get ready because we are on our way to hit something!"
