June 2, 2043
Istanbul 14 CSKA 3 BLOW OUT
The Army took it on the chin a couple of times this sim but the first game was by far the worst giving up 16 hits and seven walks to the Bosphorus. The CSKA pitchers will be seeking treatment for sore necks as Istanbul pounded 12 extra base hits including six homers. Eight of the nine Bosphorus players had two hits with Daniel having to settle for two walks and the only player not to get a hit.

June 4, 2043
Kuwait City 5 Manama 6 WALK OFF
Kuwait City's Goulding took the hill in the ninth with a three run lead and gave up a single, a walk, and a three run homer to Manama's Holman to tie the game. He would then give up the winning run on a solo homer to Gutierrez for the Pearls victory.

Baghdad 12 Cairo 0 BLOW OUT
A blow out is bad enough but it hurts just a little more when it is also a shut out. It was just 1-0 heading into the top of the fifth when the Kings started teeing off on the Chariot Archers. Baghdad would score 11 runs over the next four innings and end up with five homers in all. The 12 runs overshadowed a great pitching performance by Lenny Peron who gave up just one hit and two walks in seven plus innings.

Istanbul 3 Libyan 4 WALK OFF
Trailing 3-1 in the eighth inning the Generals got some power from an unexpected source as Bailey Bradley hit his first extra base hit of the year, a two run homer, to tie the game. In the bottom of the ninth Arnold Leach hit a double that scored Ortiz from first for the victory.

CSKA 4 Beirut 14 BLOW OUT
This game the opposite of the previous blow out suffered by the Army. In today's game CSKA gave up just four extra base hits leaving 15 singles. Four Cedars' finished with three hits while three more had two. Amazingly it could have been much worse as Beirut left 12 men on base. CSKA sent five different pitchers to the mound with none of them lasting three innings.

Jerusalem 5 Bucharest 6 WALK OFF
The Hebrew Hammers made the most of their four hits scoring five runs on three homers but it was not enough as the Impalers got back to back doubles in the bottom of the ninth from Ridder and Tovar to win the game.

Kuwait City 3 Baghdad 4 WALK OFF
Alex Goulding loses his second walk off of the week, this time in the most dramatic fashion. Leading 3-0 Goulding sandwiches a hit batter between two singles with one out in the bottom of the ninth setting up a dramatic, first pitch, grand slam by Gomez to end the game.

Mumbai 5 Jerusalem 16 BLOW OUT
The Hebrew Hammers complimented 13 hits with eight bases on balls to score 16 runs highlighted by a first inning grand slam by David Hall. Leonardo Martinez would hit two homers including a grand slam of his own to propel Jerusalem to the easy win. Mumbai would equal the Hammers with 13 hits but could not score enough to keep up leaving eight men on base and only drawing one walk from Jerusalem pitchers.

I’ve got a close carousel and it’s changing once again. Is there an unwritten rules about 9th inning duties being increasingly tougher in UMEBA?
